Hey, WW, grandson Colton wants to know what your favorite song in the whole wide world is

(by the way, we were listening to Webb Wilder when he asked)

Impossible to say but, in truth I have always had a really soft spot for "No Matter What" by Badfinger. WW

I'll be playing "No Matter What" (as well as "I'm Burning") at my friend Mike's annual Warehouse Jam in April. We did "Baby Blue" last year.

Great songs. Too high for me to sing in the original keys though! WW

Aside from just being a really good tune, we did "Baby Blue" in honor of its great use in the last scene of "Breaking Bad".

My friend Pete Milton was a really good guitar player. Here's a clip from 1988 of his band, Doc Rogers and the Roc Dodgers, doing "Statesboro Blues". Pete is on the far left.

Unfortunately, Pete must have had the blues far worse than any of us imagined, and he shot and killed himself in 1991. When I got the call from the singer in my band, letting me know of Pete's death, the first thing that came to mind were the suicides of Pete Ham and Tom Evans of Badfinger.

I went to the memorial service for Pete with my friend Joe and his wife. When we got into his car after the service and he started it, the radio came on and the first thing out of it was, "Guess I got - what I deserved..."

Mark "The Strangler" Butcher (the guy on the right taking the second solo) and drummer Rick Wilkerson, are still playing as Doc Rogers and the Roc Dodgers, with a different bass player.
