TommyLee Member Since: March 2005 Wilderian since 1988 Wilderian since 1988	I happen to be reading the new Peter Guralnick biography of Sam Phillips, and Lillian McMurry of Trumpet Records is mentioned several times. Terrific story, lots of stuff I didn't know despite being interested in Sam for many years. It's called "Sam Phillips: The Man Who Invented Rock 'n' Roll"...quite an exaggeration, as the author admits right at the start.

I have the first pressing of the Trumpet book Diamonds On Farish Street. Fascinating stuff, especially considering our hero Webb was but a wee tyke when the label closed down. But that must've been amazing in Jackson at the time 1950-1955. Hopefully the original building can be saved. Way too many historical landmarks being demolished.
