Hi Webb,

I ran across a website called "Save Trumpet Records". It appears to be by Sherman Lee Dillon. The site was set up to help save the original location of Trumpet Records in Jackson Mississippi. The site is from two years ago and I was wondering if you know whether they were successful in saving and restoring the location?

I happen to be reading the new Peter Guralnick biography of Sam Phillips, and Lillian McMurry of Trumpet Records is mentioned several times. Terrific story, lots of stuff I didn't know despite being interested in Sam for many years. It's called "Sam Phillips: The Man Who Invented Rock 'n' Roll"...quite an exaggeration, as the author admits right at
the start.

I have the first pressing of the Trumpet book Diamonds On Farish Street. Fascinating stuff, especially considering our hero Webb was but a wee tyke when the label closed down. But that must've been amazing in Jackson at the time 1950-1955. Hopefully the original building can be saved. Way too many historical landmarks being demolished.
